The highly anticipated trade for Carmelo Anthony has finally taken place. The Knicks landed Anthony in a blockbuster three-team, 13-player trade Tuesday with Denver and Minnesota. In addition to Anthony, New York also received Billups, Anthony Carter, Shelden Williams, Renaldo Balkman and Minnesota's Corey Brewer. New York sent Wilson Chandler,Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton and Timofey Mozgov to Denver, along with draft picks and cash. The Knicks sent Eddy Curry to Minnesota along with Anthony Randolph for Brewer.
Carmelo and Billups made their Knicks' debut last night against the Bucks. Carmelo had 27 points and Billups had 21 points. Amare Staudemire also has 19 points. With the addition of the two former Nuggets, the Knicks are focussed on making the playoffs this season.
Can't wait to see how this team does down the stretch.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really cool! I am not a huge basketball fan but I do like New York teams since there are no teams in Connecticut
ReplyDeleteI think this trade was a smart decision for the Knicks. I think their team is better than before not only because of Carmelo but also because of Chauncey Billups too.
ReplyDeleteAt first I was worried we might have given up too much and it would turn into a bust, but chauncey and melo are obviously a great additive to the knicks organization.
